Private Joseph Kelsall of the 2nd Bn., Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, was killed in action, 17th Mar 1915, age 19. He was buried at Woburn Abbey Cemetery, Cuinchy, located between Bethune and La Bassee, France. Cuinchy remained during almost the whole of the war within range of German guns, and the cemeteries in the commune were made, so far as British troops are concerned, by fighting units and Field Ambulances

His family is found in the 1911 census for Ireland at New Dock St.: Joseph Kelsall 64 (bolier maker), Elizabeth 49, Joseph 15 (rivet boy in shipyard), George 13, Hannah 10, Jane 8, Elizabeth 7. Father, mother and Joseph were born in England, the others in Belfast. This may be Joseph married Elizabeth Barratt, Oldham 1887.
