Lance Corporal Alexander Ernest Kelsall of the 7th Btn. North Staffordshire Regiment was killed in action 29th Aug 1915, age 31 at Gallipoli and is remembered at the 7th Field Ambulance Cemetery. The cemetery was named from the 7th Australian Field Ambulance, which landed on Gallipoli in September 1915, but over 350 of the graves were brought in from earlier cemeteries after the Armistice. Alexander had joined the military in November 1914 age 30.

Alexander Kelsall, was born in July 1884 in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, to Stephen and Jane Kelsall (nee Boulton). He had seven brothers and five sisters. His father Stephen passed away in 1903 at the age of 62 and his mother Jane passed away in 1903 at the age of 62.

Alexander married Janet Trigger in 1909. They had sons William Henry Trigger and Harry Alexander. In 1911 Alexander, Jane and Harry were living at Church St., Trent Vale, Stoke.
